The House The Coast Built

With over 50 contractors donating their time, skills, and resources, The House the Coast Built is undoubtedly the Sunshine Coast’s Largest Fundraising Event. 16 Flame Tree Avenue, Sippy Downs was built over a 16 week period in 2015. The beautiful Sippy Downs house is to be auctioned by Ray White Maroochydore Director Dan Sowden and his team on Valentine’s Day 2016.

Money raised from the auction will be channelled towards supporting kids on the Sunshine Coast via the wonderful local charity, Wishlist. This year Wishlist is focusing on two important causes. The first is Nambour Hospital’s Diversional Therapy Program. This program allows kids on the paediatric ward access to therapists using yoga and music, as well as interaction with animals and to help reduce stress, anxiety and insomnia.

The second cause will direct funding to SCKoping getaway camps, which assist kids aged between nine and 18 who have a family member battling mental illness or drug/alcohol addiction. SCKoping provide a much needed break from their home life whilst helping them enhance their coping skills so they can return home equipped to deal with the situation.

Wishlist is holding a street party on the 17th January 2016 from 10am-2pm, giving everyone in the community a chance to walk through The House the Coast Built. For more information please visit www.wishlist.org.au.
