Wishlist and Ray White unite to Auction Wishlist House & an Art Collection

By Dan Sowden

If you’re keen to snap up a deal on a one-off item for your home while raising money to improve the lives of thousands of the Coast’s eye patients, then listen up:

Ray White Maroochydore Auctioneer Dan Sowden will be onstage to auction a number of original paintings by local

artists, furniture, home décor, white goods, bedroom linen sets, a BBQ and a 3D entertainment system are just some of the many items going up for auction at Wishlist House on Lot 1020 Heliconia Street, Brightwater.

Marketed by Ray White Maroochydore, Wishlist House  is a beautiful four bedroom, two bathroom home with a pool built for free from donated goods and services. A Wishlist initiative, it was built in partnership with Ausmar Homes, Stockland and more than 66 contractors, tradies and businesses. Marketing agent Elly Heathcote from Ray White mentioned that ‘Good Interest is forming ahead of auction day with over 40 inspections received from marketing campaign”.

The home and contents will be auctioned separately on January 29, 2012, with all proceeds directed towards purchasing $430,000 worth of vital ophthalmology equipment to diagnose and treat eye disease in Sunshine Coast public patients.

Wishlist called for help in furnishing the home late last year, and local artists were the first to jump onboard followed by electronics and home furnishings suppliers.

The nature-inspired paintings were created for Wishlist House by Flaxton based artist Jill Gardner-Leonard, who heard about the project at its inception and was inspired by the cause. Four of her paintings worth approx. $16,850 are on display at the home along with three original pop-art style paintings worth $1,950 created by Red Square Art. The kids’ bedrooms are adorned with artwork by Go Arty and in the garage is a one-of-a-kind beer fridge painted by renowned surf artist, Owen Cavanagh. The hallway features a beach-themed hall table and matching mirror created by local carpenter, Arron Oaks.

All these artists donated their pieces to Wishlist House, and each unique artwork is on the auction list for January 29. To view the full auction list with photos, visit www.wishlist.org.au/Events/WishlistHouse-155/AuctionlistNEW-251/.

Come see the amazing home built, furnished and adorned by so many members of our community. Wishlist House and its contents are available for viewing every day from 10am-2pm until auction day on January 29. Thank you for sharing our vision.
