What does Spring do to the Real Estate Market?

I often get asked when the best time to sell is and to be completely honest I don’t believe the Sunshine Coast has a particularly bad, or good, time to sell mainly because a property for sale on the Sunshine Coast will look magnificent most of the time. Other market places, like Mexico (AKA Victoria) may be different because it’s easy to see how they would benefit from warmer weather seasons.

Obviously it’s Spring on the Sunshine Coast at the moment and buyers may experience more choice because it is the traditional selling period. It’s considered the traditional selling period mostly because the grass is greener and the flowers are in bloom making a property more attractive.

We have noticed an increase in the amount of properties which are now for sale particularly over the past month. For example,

  • 60 days ago there were 276 properties on the market for the postcode 4558.
  • That figure increased to 331 properties (approx. 20%) 30 days ago.
  • Currently there are 388 properties on the market in that particular postcode which is another increase of approx. 17% over the past month. If you would like me to send you the figures for your particular suburb I’d be happy to put them together for.
