Team Adem’s Chalk the Walk

By Property Management

This Sunday Team Adem, in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Council, are holding the inaugural Chalk the Walk event event at Buderim Lions Park.

Brent Crosby of Team Adem is the mastermind of the event, which is celebrating the unveiling of the ‘Bright Stars’ memorial. Everyone is invited to colour in the footpath with a message of love, hope or inspiration.

Chalk will be available on the day for a gold coin donation, with all proceeds from the event going towards equipment in the paediatric emergency department in the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

“Most memorials people tend to visit once a year and leave flowers, but I thought it would be nice to leave a picture/message to someone special who is no longer with us. There may be someone who is battling an illness who could be left a message of support also or just someone going though a tough time.”

Brent and his wife Lu instigated the memorial, and thought Chalk the Walk would be the perfect event to hold around the stunning sculpture.

“We know that it is something that will mean a lot to many Sunshine Coast families.”

The memorial is one of Team Adem’s proudest achievements. They are also the largest blood donation community in Australia, and have saved over 30,000 lives since 2013.

The sculpture was designed by a Landscape Architect from the Sunshine Coast Council, who have given approval for the artwork from the day to be left for most of the following week for visitors to view.

Brent said Team Adem is very appreciative of the Sunshine Coast Council, who have been incredibly supportive of the memorial.

“It will be very interesting to see all the heartfelt messages and colourful pictures. Unfortunately I can’t offer any artistic tips but every drawing/quote will be very special!”

Chalk the Walk is on Sunday 31 July from 9-12pm at Buderim Lions Park, Burnett Street.
