The Sunshine Coast Marathon was back again in 2015 for it’s fourth year, and it was bigger and better than ever! After a rainy week and heavy rainfall the night before, luckily the sun was shining the morning of the Marathon. This event has become one of Australia’s most loved running events, with options to suit competitors of all ranging abilities.
We were honoured to again be involved, we invite you to take a minute to hear from our staff why we LOVE being a part of the Sunshine Coast Marathon and what we take out of our participation on the day.
We are so proud of the 35 staff across our group of 6 Ray White offices that were involved in both volunteering and competing. We had staff competing in the half marathon, 10km and 5km events, many of whom were first-timers. Our staff are happy to give up their own time to volunteer over the event weekend and assist the 7,000 runners taking part on the day.
To date, the Sunshine Coast Marathon has given back over $500,000 to local charities and community groups, not to mentiont the much needed injection to our tourism industry over the weekend.
The final count for funds raised in 2015 is expected to beat previous years, with 100% of event profits going to groups such as Ronald McDonald House Charities and The Westpac Foundation, along with more than 70 worthwhile local causes as voted by the runners.
This local event continues to grow each year, supported by the 400+ Ray White Volunteers, working relentlessly across the weekend to pull together a fantastic community event.
We can’t wait to be involved again in 2016, and congratulations and thank you to all involved over the weekend.
