Over the weekend, four Ray White agents swapped their dry suits for wet ones and walked away with silverware. Ray White Maroochydore’s Jay Sherwell, New Farm’s Tom Lyne, Coolangatta’s Mason Garten and Mermaid Beach’s Troy Dowker took out the title in Brisbane Airport’s annual Corporate Surf Challenge.
The annual Corporate Surf Challenge in 2010 attracted teams from the country’s leading corporations and raises funds for Royal Flying Doctor’s Service of Queensland (RFDS).
One the of entrants Tom Lyne said it was great to win, particularly against some professional competition, but even more important to support a good cause.
“Growing up on rural property I have had many mates from far Northern Australia and Central Queensland that have called on this service when in times of need or emergency. It is a crucial service for the rural communities of Australia and one that can be under funded at times,” he said.
“We all have to thank Dan White (Ray White director) for his great sponsorship towards entering a team in this year’s event and without his support we quite possibly may have missed out. I encourage you to spread the word to your workmates, friends and family about this event and the service the Royal Flying Doctor’s provide.”
