Maroochy Water Dreamers!

By Dan Sowden

“One day we want to live in a canal home” – those were the words Brett Hagart said to Ray White agent Delwyn Goonan 5 years ago. Now three properties later that dream is one step closer. A phone call 5 years ago from Delwyn saying “I’ve found your new home” introduced the couple to 20 Glenlea Dr Maroochy Waters. Brett & Jackie could see the potential of building a freestanding duplex at the rear. They had to act quickly as interest from another buyer meant putting forward their best offer. A lot of hard work on the original home resulted in a superbly renovated property starting there long term plan. Auction Day at Glenlea Dr was nervous for the first time sellers but at the fall of the hammer the property was sold, allowing funds to then complete their plan of building at the rear of the block which faced Quail Street. Upon completion of the riverside duplex the young couple took a year off travelling Australia. This experience resulted with a stint in the mines which gave them the funds to purchase an investment property, where else but Maroochy Waters, only a couple of blocks away from their own home. They felt the area was a real hidden secret. The area is continually evolving so we had confidence in it’s long term potential. Whether it’s a new million dollar build on the canal, a full renovation or a new family home on a dry block the area is currently a hive of change.

A couple of months back Delwyn got the call again. “We’ve found our waterfront property” a renovator at April Ct Maroochy Waters. The expansion of Brett’s business, Refresh Bathrooms meant they were ready to sell 8 Quail Street.  The riverside duplex at Quail St over the marketing period attracted interest from both local and interstate buyers and achieved a great turnout on Auction Day, selling under the hammer. Now the final push is on to finish the renovation at their investment property in Buna Street to complete the final move. Delwyn Goonan said. “You might say I have been their agent of choice for selling their properties, but I would have to say that Brett and Jackie are my ‘vendor’s of choice’. They realised the potential of properties in the Maroochy Waters area and that a product with a high standard of finish in this fantastic location would always attract interest. Understanding the benefits of presenting their property to the market place with exposure through advertising media but most of all they have listened to the buyers perception of value which means they have achieved great results on their properties on Auction Day. Brett is already planning the makeover on their new home in April Ct Maroochy Waters, “We won’t be moving from this one”.
