Let’s Help Support Our Everyday Heroes!

By Dan Sowden

Last year 30 individuals from our Sunshine Coast Business Community decided to ride 100km in support of Cystic Fibrosis and successfully raised over $50,000 for the cause.

Given the fantastic result of last years efforts this group has now decided to make this an annual event and are happy to announce the group has swollen to 50 riders.

Each year the group will be supporting a new charity, and this year on June 16 they will come together for two beautiful local girls who desperately need community support for life-changing surgery.

Two year-old local girls Lucy Ridoutt and Frankee-Lee Shaw both suffer from extremely rare ear conditions leaving Lucy’s hearing at 20-30% and Frankee-Lee bilaterally deaf in both ears. Both girls require urgent ear operations at the California Ear Institute with each operation costing around $34,000.

The aim this year is to simply fundraise more than last years mammoth achievement. To do this the group need support from as many people as possible.

Matt O’Grady from our Ray White Buderim office is working tirelessly to contribute to this worthy cause. He has asked that any donations you make are done so under his name rather than a generic donation. This way Matt can track how much he was able to recieve in the name of the charity.

Matt is available to contact on 0414 317 375 or matt.ogrady@raywhite.com

Mr O’Grady  understands the impact of financial donations when times are tough, but stresses the difference a small amount can make.

“I know that not everyone is in a position to donate but it would be just as important if you could share this link with as many people as you can in the hope that we may be able to help these little girls in some way.”
