Introducing The Owners Of The Ivy | Jo Ruane & John Skevington

By Dan Sowden

Here at Ray White Maroochydore; we are living and breathing The Ivy everyday! As sales continue to climb we are soon to hit that ‘tipping point’ where construction is sure to commence.

We know we are excited; but we also wanted to hear from our wonderful buyers, what exactly drew them to The Ivy? We would love to introduce Jo Ruane & John Skevington

Jo and John have said there are several reasons The Ivy appealed to them.

“Because we live on a beautiful Lake (Lake Hood) here in the South Island of New Zealand, we wanted to have somewhere to spend time during our NZ winter season in Australia which provided water side living, plus the privacy we have here, and both value very much. The Ivy ticked these boxes since Picnic Point Esplanade is a cul de sac with no through traffic. Waterfront living without a through road is quite rare in the Sunshine Coast, which makes the Ivy development very attractive for us.”

Maroochydore offers the perfect base for Jo and John while in Australia as even though The Ivy offers privacy, it is also very close to everything they require while on holiday.

“The wonderful selection of cafes is nearby, and able to be reached by foot, bike or public transport. The Sunshine Coast Plaza is close to us, as is the exciting redevelopment of the CBD.” said Jo.

“The Ivy appeals to us because of its unique design, making it different to the many “concrete box” creations on offer.”

“We like Maroochydore as a whole: the proximity to everything, the atmosphere which is relaxed but humming.  We are also looking forward to the possibility of direct flights from Christchurch to the Sunshine Coast airport in the future, especially in light of the airport extension.”

“We are really looking forward to spending time in the winter months in the warm, and having a lovely new place overlooking the Maroochy River.  Also being able to have a brand new unit without the hassles of high body corporate fees usually associated with older units.  Just to be able to ‘rock up’ and buy the milk on the way to our apartment is a very exciting prospect.

Given The Ivy will be a second base for John and Jo, the current exciting developments locally will mean they are only a 3.5 hours flight away, and will allow them to travel between their two homes at their leisure.
