Experienced hands take reins

By Amber Madden

New developers of Coast luxury boutique apartments come with established reputation.

It’s the recipe for success. Take a tried and true development group, then add a new project in a sought-after location.

The years of experience by the Forrester Group combined with the fresh approach and the prime north-facing riverfront site at Cotton Tree are the key ingredients for Essence.

The Forrester Group has more than 40 years of experience in property development and construction on the Sunshine Coast as well as interstate.

Brothers Rod and Des Forrester have a track record that includes development projects ranging from land subdivisions, such as Maroochy Waters and Peregian Springs, to high-rise residential apartments – Peninsular beachfront Resort and Mantra Mooloolaba Beach.

Des and Rod Forrester who are long-time Coast residents and understand the region exceptionally well.

Rod Forrester was a member of the University of the Sunshine Coast Council from 1996-2002 and founding chairman of Matthew Flinders Anglican College. He is a director of the LifeFlight Australia rescue helicopter service.

Des Forrester, like his brother, has been a director of the ASX top 200-listed FKP Property Group, and recently built SeaBreeze Mooloolaba residential apartments.

They have welcomed the opportunity to bring the luxury Essence of Cotton Tree to fruition.

The site preparation has already been carried out on the landmark site at the corner of the Esplanade and Third Avenue, that includes the former home of Cotton Tree Backpackers, Finn & Dash Bikes and Harvest Breads cafe.

Rod Forrester already lives at a Maroochydore waterfront apartment and Des Forrester will be living at Essence.

It’s such an ideal location, with the boutique collection of 19 exquisite architecturally-designed residences designed to enjoy the panoramic north aspect over the park, river and ocean beyond.

Ray White Maroochydore director Dan Sowden said that with the Forrester family now delivering Essence it would bring about a huge boost of confidence to the buyers considering and those that have secured their future home.

“The Forresters have a long and successful development history both locally, nationally and internationally.

“Foresters’ acquisition is ideal because you won’t find a better family developer with a stronger track record.

“The best part is that Rod already lives in Maroochydore and Des will be moving into the building himself, so you know that they will be delivering a quality building.

“News of the Forresters takeover of the site has been bubbling for some time; but now with confirmation we have seen an instant increase and confidence in buyer enquiry.

“We anticipate that construction will commence later this year for a completion date of sometime in late 2020.

“The selection of the builder is in the final stages and we expect confirm the builders appointment within the next few weeks.’’

The three-bedroom residential apartments have been designed for the owner-occupier and include double-car accommodation.
