Welcome to what was one of the most exciting auctions we’ve seen so far this year: 18 Surf Road, Maroochydore.
Saturday the 22nd of February saw this gorgeous four bedroom, renovated home in Maroochydore go under the hammer, with a crowd of 80 in attendance and 8 registered bidders all competing for their dream home.

The once obvious distinct difference in prices between Alexandra Headland and Maroochydore continues to blur.
After an intensive five week Auction campaign with very strong numbers attending each open for inspection, we were sure this home would draw significant interest being in such a central location and being suitable for both families and downsizers. The auction day culminated in 8 registered bidders and a sale price of $1,010,000.
There were buyers offshore, buyers in Tasmania and even one in the UK. In a changing of the guard, not all buyers knew the area as well as locals.
It used to be that the only people who paid good money were those who clearly understood the value of the area because they used to live there but that is changing. The Sunshine Coast profile as an attractive location to invest is growing rapidly and expect that to increase even more when new businesses base themselves within the new CBD to capitalise on the new high speed internet.

The auction was well contested so the owners were clear they had a very good snapshot of what the market was prepared to offer and after 26 bids, the home sold for a street record to an extremely lovely couple who grew up in the area, left for a while but dearly wanted to return to a location they loved. Seeing these types of numbers is a great confidence boost to any local home owner that is renovating and thinking of selling.
If you are considering renovating to sell I would love to help out and give you ideas on what will maximise your return to ensure your time and money is well spent.
