Our Acreage specialist Annie Nesshas had an important update come through concerning all buyers and sellers of acreage properties.
The local council has passed a ruling concerning building additional dwelling on acreage homes. If you own an acreage property you are now permitted to build a second dwelling on that acreage property. This can be fully self contained and can be 90m2 excluding decks and car accommodation and this does not have to be joined to the main dwelling in any way.
So this is GREAT NEWS for any family wishing to build another home on their property. Also great news for properties with existing smaller dwellings, as you are now able to build a more substantial dwelling and then class the smaller one as the second dwelling. All in all this opens things up to many more options for everyone.
