Front Of House Receptionist.
How did you get into real estate/ What attracted you to a career in real estate?
Just before I received my role in real estate I was working two hospitality jobs, one retail plus was running my own clothing store – all at the same time! Prior to this I had a role as a freelance public relations officer for a number of years. I originally pursued a career in journalism and public relations as I have always been a people person. I used the skills I learnt in these fields to create a small business in Mooloolaba. The business had just lasted a year when a friend recommended I apply for the role of Front of House at Ray White Maroochydore. I thrive off face-to-face contact and highly enjoy helping people so I have found that this role has been perfect for me.
What do you believe is the secret to success?
Staying focused on your goals, remembering to take each day as it comes and always being flexible and understanding towards others and situations.
What does it mean to you to be a part of the Ray White brand? In short, why Ray White.
As soon as I started working here I felt as though I was a part of a large family and everyday coming to work I still feel this way. I love the thought that everyday I play a role (even though it’s small) in helping a family find their forever home whether it be a rental or sales property. We have a deep care for our clients and will always go the extra mile for them.
What are the challenges of working in this industry?
For me personally it’s dealing with conflict. You have to be extremely understanding while your dealing with people and their homes. There can be some highly emotional situations for the client and as I’m always the first point of call I have to be there for them to help come up with solutions for a resolution.
What advice would you give to others starting in the industry?
Learn as much as you can about the industry before jumping in. Make sure you have a passion for what you do. Learn from your mistakes and don’t let them define who you are.
What is it like to work on the Sunshine Coast?
There’s nothing better than climbing Mount Coolum with your friends & then having a coffee at your favourite cafe before work. And in summer nothing beats a lunch time or after work dip in the ocean!
What do you like to do outside of real estate/in your spare time?
Spend time with family and friends as much as I can.
