Relationship Manager in our Property Management Department
How did you get into real estate/ What attracted you to a career in real estate?
I wanted to get into Real Estate to be able to see all the different homes, meet people and have a stable career.
What do you believe is the secret to success?
To be successful you need to be organised, strong and personable. You need to look at the homes you manage as if they were your own.
What is your current real estate market like?
Currently through the winter months we are slowing down, however there is always a tenant for each property out there we just need to work harder to match the two.
What does it mean to you to be a part of the Ray White brand? In short, why Ray White.
I love the Ray White brand. The strong backing of a reputable company is key to moving forward. I also enjoy working somewhere that recognises your efforts and hard work. When I got the call for my interview here at Ray White Maroochydore I was so excited that I may be working with a great company with strong values and support.
What are the challenges of working in this industry?
Never enough time in the day. You need to know that there will always be a challenge, or always be a difficult client, but the best part is that you will always learn from each of these obstacles.
What advice would you give to others starting in the industry?
Set yourself work hour boundaries. Its very easy to fall into early mornings, late nights or just checking your emails on your days off. Keep work at work and enjoy your time away from the office.
What is it like to work on the Sunshine Coast?
As a recent Sunshine Coast resident, moving to the Coast from Victoria almost 3 years ago I have noticed the work in the same industry is very different. The Sunny Coast has a more relaxed feel with tenants and owners. The properties generally have different issues with maintenance and with what tenants are wanting. There is no where else I would want to work or live.
What do you like to do outside of real estate/in your spare time?
As I am still fairly new to the Coast, I love to spend weekends exploring the area and going for a mountain climb, taking my fur babies (Max & Daisy) down to the beach for a run. Finding great places for breakfast and a coffee. I have recently built my own home and I feel that now my weekends will consist of gardening and yard work.
