How did you get into real estate/ What attracted you to a career in real estate?

After finishing school I had a gap year where I worked part time to have a good think about what path I wanted to go down, I didn’t have any interest in studying further after school but a carpentry apprenticeship was what I was aiming to do. After a good hard think about what it was that I really wanted to do I decided that building wasn’t my passion but seeing the finished product was, I had always had an interest in houses and design but getting my hands dirty wasn’t part of that interest.

What do you believe is the secret to success?

I believe the secret to success is always having belief that you can achieve what you set out to do and not slow down when you make a mistake, it’s something i’m still learning to overcome.

What is your current real estate market like?

Currently I work in the Maroochydore Apartment market and it has been seeing healthy amounts of growth over the past 2-3 years, it’s a great market for people my age to dip their toes into, make some small improvements that won’t break the bank and come out with a healthy profit.

What does it mean to you to be a part of the Ray White brand? In short, why Ray White.

Being a part of such a well recognised family business means a lot to me, we give back to the community much more than a lot of other operators and that means a big deal to me.

What are the challenges of working in this industry?

The challenges of the industry are much similar to a lot of other industries in terms of dealing with different personality types. I’ve grown to understand that you just can’t get along with everyone but at the end of the day they all want a similar result.

What advice would you give to others starting in the industry?

Don’t give up when times get tough, don’t be afraid to ask for help, go to as many training seminars as you can and listen to inspirational podcasts.

What is it like to work on the Sunshine Coast?

There’s no place like it, one moment you’re taking in the breaking surf and the next you’re up in the rain forest of Buderim. Not only are the visuals amazing we have a fantastic future ahead with plenty of potential.

What do you like to do outside of real estate/in your spare time?

In my spare time I enjoy spending time catching up with friends, playing sports like touch, golf, AFL and I also enjoy attending motoring events and car shows.
