How did you get into real estate/ What attracted you to a career in real estate?

My entry into Real Estate came about after deciding to attend university and study a Bachelor of Business & Marketing. My first ever elective was property development, and I was lucky enough to meet a good friend in Chris Camphin. Chris is the son of Peter Camphin Loan Market director, Chris and I spoke at length about the property industry and how he thought it would suit me – so I did my Real Estate Full Licence at the REIQ at Coorparoo and fell in love with the industry.

What do you believe is the secret to success?

Consistency- the secret is being able to perform well consistently I believe this will bring longevity in a career.

What is your current real estate market like?

The market is strong, any market where infrastructure is growing and and the population is growing is great. With more to happen to the Coast the future looks bright.

What does it mean to you to be a part of the Ray White brand? In short, why Ray White.

From the very start Ray White was always my goal. Big companies with big values, breed big success. Working for a brand that is so well recognised in our industry and marketplace has so many pros, and as you continue to grow, a big brand is the support you want and need.

What are the challenges of working in this industry?

The challenges of working in a 24/7 workplace is making sure you stay grounded and balanced. Living on the Coast allows the ease of going to the beach, or adopting the laid back lifestyle at a moments notice. I don’t know many places where you can go to the beach on our lunch break, get a park straight away and not have to compete for sand space. Pretty Unreal.

What advice would you give to others starting in the industry?

Take your time, real estate is a game of experiences and lessons. There is no way you can expect or be expected to know everything at the get go. Take your steps when you’re ready.

What is it like to work on the Sunshine Coast?

Working on the Sunshine Coast is as good as it sounds, the ability to live the perfect lifestyle – or at least try. I think the community aspect of the Sunshine Coast allows people to really connect and excel in their careers. The Sunshine Coast is full of groups and networks that ultimately all inter link making the Coast a great place for business.

What do you like to do outside of real estate/in your spare time?

Very busy in my spare time, I coach kids Rugby and co-ordinate Rugby Union 7’s programs for my old school Immanuel Lutheran College as well as working with Nambour Rugby as well as Regional Coaching. I play Rugby for the Local Maroochydore side, play volleyball, touch, golf and squash on the nights and morning that are not taken up already.
