Sporting Great Serves Up Picnic Point Development

He’s represented Australia at Wimbledon and the Australian Open, won tennis tournaments alongside the likes of Pat Cash, and now, tennis great Mark Kratzmann is serving up his latest venture off the court, launching a riverfront property development in Maroochydore.

Mr Kratzmann said having holidayed on the Sunshine Coast as a child some four decades ago, he’d always dreamed of calling Picnic Point home and had jumped at the chance to secure a north-east facing site on the banks of the Maroochy River.

“This really has been a dream 40 years in the making, and I’m thrilled to be delivering a development that embraces the stunning aesthetic of Picnic Point and connects residents with the natural environment,” Mr Kratzmann said.

“The Ivy will feature 37 apartments plus a penthouse, as well as larger-than- average common spaces for residents to relax and entertain guests.”

“It’s not often a site like this one comes along, so I knew it was important to do it right and create a development that delivered a high standard of living.”

“I assembled a talented team of people who I believe are the best in the business and gave them the freedom to be creative and deliver their best work, and I think the incredible concept they’ve come up with really speaks for itself.”

Building designer Marisa Berquin said with The Ivy overlooking such a spectacular river setting, she had focused on making the building part of the broader landscape, bringing vegetation to every level.

“The hanging gardens really set The Ivy apart from the crowd, and these, combined with the timber textures featured throughout, create a strong sense of warmth and tranquility,” Ms Berquin said.

“We’ve made every effort to capitalise on the natural light and breezes, incorporating expansive balconies so residents feel connected to nature at all times.”

The Ivy features a communal barbeque area, lap pool, steam room and gym, with all apartments incorporating Smeg and Miele appliances.

Located on Picnic Point Esplanade, the luxury development is just a short stroll short stroll to local cafes and restaurants as well as the Maroochydore CBD, Ocean Street and Sunshine Plaza. Prices start from $499,000.
