Emporio Community Commences Construction

Construction of Stage One has commenced on the much anticipated mixed-use master planned community Emporio in Maroochydore this week. Reed Property Group General Manager of Development, Carl Nancarrow, said the start of construction marked a major milestone for the development, which was almost completely sold out of Stage One residential apartments.

“The amount of interest we have seen recently from local and interstate investors over the last few months that are looking to secure long-term capital gains has been absolutely staggering,” Mr Nancarrow said.

“Investors from interstate understand the vision for the development because they’ve seen it done in other cities and have witnessed first hand how the mixed-use concept works.

“Emporio incorporates residential apartments, a fresh food market place, shops, restaurants, cafés and office space all in one, similar to James Street in the Valley in Brisbane.”

Major Projects Portfolio head and Maroochydore Councillor Debbie Blumel said the mixed-use concept was new to the Sunshine Coast and would be instrumental in revitalising the Maroochydore CBD heart.

“Reed Property Group’s vision is bold and I commend them for their efforts in advancing the Maroochydore area. The Emporio development is just the latest in a string of successful projects the company has developed in Maroochydore including Aurora, m1, Riva and Platinum.”

Maroochydore Economic Development Portfolio Holder Councillor Lew Brennan said commencement of construction would bring Maroochydore one step closer to becoming the Sunshine Coast’s Principal Activity Centre.

“The Maroochydore region is set to become a bustling activity hub, with retail and business precincts, restaurants, bars and cafes all set to populate the area and give the Coast financial climate the boost it needs,” Cr Brennan said.

“With so many job opportunities on offer, we also anticipate large numbers of new residents will flock to the Maroochydore region both in the next few years and well into the future.”

Mr Nancarrow said in taking such high population growth into consideration, he was confident demand for housing in the Maroochydore region and, in particular, the Maroochydore CBD would remain strong.

“Experienced investors recognise that renters want to be located close to both work and entertainment venues, and Emporio is the only development in the Maroochydore region that offers this exciting mix,” Mr Nancarrow said.

“Such easy access to facilities and close proximity to the beach is a huge drawcard, so it’s really no surprise the development has received such strong interest from investors.”

The Emporio development is being constructed by award-winning local builders, RCQ, who bring with them a multitude of MBA and HIA industry awards. RCQ Construction General Manager Steve Cole said his team was committed to building quality, sustainable, projects that offer sizeable returns to investors.

“The RCQ Construction team uses only top quality building materials and techniques, and this firstclass workmanship ensures Emporio apartments will retain their value well into the future,” Mr Cole said.

Emporio apartments boast designer kitchens with Smeg appliances and stone bench tops, airconditioning, expansive balconies, designer window furnishings and secure parking.

Facilities exclusively for Emporio residents will include access to a gym, resort-style pool, rooftop entertainment area, residents lounge and theatre, fibre-optic high-speed broadband access, security systems and close proximity to a fresh food marketplace, shops, cafes and businesses.

With Stage One apartments now under construction, Stage Two residential apartments will be released in the coming months.
